How to open plain text webpage address directly in a new tab

Is it possible in Brave on Android to open links that are plain text after selecting them directly in a new tab? Like for example instead of manually copy address and paste it in a new page I would like to select it and have option to open it directly.

If I understand your writing . . .

You want to be able to

  • select (and in effect, highlight) some text - that is in the form of a valid URL address - found in a webpage, and then

  • be able to somehow perform what is akin to a right-click, and then

  • as a result of that “right-click”, see a pop-up in which there is

  • an option to select, that would

  • send the Brave Browser (Android) window to the website.

Correct?

I mean here to have options to open this link in a new tab. Because now I have to copy and paste it manually. The links I’m concerned about are just in such a form of plain text.

I think the issue here is in the name itself “plaintext”.

Any “plaintext” you see is going to be recognized by an app (browsers included) as such — this is because there is no hyperlink attached to this text. However, most Android systems are able to detect a hyperlink when that text is selected.

As such, you should be able to select the text, then select Open in the context menu. Note that this will only work if you have Brave set as your default browser for opening links:

This is exactly it but I don’t have this option as you can see. Brave is my only browser and is set as default

@CaptainSquat just want to confirm, are you the one that also posted over at https://www.reddit.com/r/brave_browser/comments/1hdf8hn/no_more_option_open_in_menu/ or is this someone else experiencing same issue?

Also, could you advise which version of Brave and Android you’re using? In addition, maybe which type of phone?
