Description of issue
Downloaded files fail to complete. Task picker shows progress bar on Brave icon. “Holder” file appears in download target location but never completes. Brave download history does not show attempted download. No dialog appears to select download location (downloads defaulting to previous successful download location).
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Attempting to download any file from a browser window.
Expected result:
Dialog appears to verify download location. File appears and shows progress in Downloads window. Download completes and shows valid file–“holder” file removed.

Additional Information:
Issue only started with this latest update. All previous versions of Brave worked without issue.
