Cursor Is Completely Broken on Windows 10

For the past few days whenever I use Brave, the cursor starts acting broken after a few minutes of use. It stays the same even when I hover above hyperlinks, text, images, etc… and instead after I hover over these objects, when I hover over normal areas, such as the tabs bar at the top, it suddenly changes into the hyperlink/magnify icon out of nowhere and stays like that. I’ve been using Brave for over 3 years now, and I have no idea how or why this is happening

However, when I close brave(and all browser related apps like youtube, whatsapp web, etc…) and reopen it, it gets resolved, at least for a few minutes until the cycle repeats

This issue only occurs with Brave, all other apps are normal

I’ve tried clearing all cache, that didn’t do anything either. I’ve run anti virus scans, and my system is clear. I have no idea what to do next

Any way to fix this would be highly appreciated

Brave Version: 1.75.175

On W10 too. Yeah the cursor keeps getting stuck on the finger constantly. Or it gets stuck on regular cursor. I’ve even had the cursor disappear! I suspect what is happening is the cursor transforms (finger, regular, invisible) but then doesn’t transform back and gets stuck. Maybe this is all one big chromium issue. I also got the disappearing cursor from going to downloads.

Is there a way to rollback?

Completely broken in Windows 11 too…
After a random amount of the time, the cursor/pointer will:
Disappear and/or
Flash and/or
change to a Resize cursor

(Brave 1.75.175, Windows 11 23H2, Ryzen 7 5700G)

edit: this bug seems to be exacerbated by using Youtube

Yes, definitely something is wrong with 1.75.175;
Intermittent Pausing scroll, slow to load, and may be eating OS system resources (CPU/Memory). Started immediately after updating to 1.75.175. Close Brave and laptop back to normal. Rebooted laptop. Open another broswer and all normal.

Hope this helps,
Windows 10

disabling hardware acceleration in settings fixes it

Turning off hardware acceleration makes it happen less, not go away.
However, when hardware acceleration is turned off, opening a new tab makes it stop immediately (before it randomly happens again).

@badsector1 it looks like this should be fixed in the minor update we’ll be pushing tomorrow. See @kamil’s comment on the Github issue here:

For me the cursor disappear when I drag a tab in to a new window. It usually comes back if I tab to the explorer and then back.

Just a final ping for everyone, the issue should be fixed in today’s update. So make sure you’re on 1.75.178
