Description of the issue:
When attempting to “save as” or clicking on the download arrow from an open PDF in the browser window, Brave opens the file manager but then hangs.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Open any PDF document to view (e.g. https://www.scranton.edu/information-technology/documents/policies/privacy-policy.pdf)
- Click on download arrow in upper right corner
- Observe file manager window opens and hangs. Instead of showing the list of files in the download folder it shows the “Working on it” file manager message and the save button is inoperative.
Expected result:
Expect file manager window to show list of files in download folder and respond to clicking the save button.

This problem happened once before and was resolved upon a subsequent update of the browser. I only noticed it as an issue today, and I was able to download multiple PDFs on 5/15/2023. Also, the issue only affects filetype PDF. I can download and save images and other file types (DOC, PPT, EXE).
