When i try to install brave, it shows a message that says “no update is available”:
I tried deleting all possible brave files, installing a old version but it just shows this error.

Same problem here. I download brave, a window opens, I install Brave. Then I get the same window you are getting. “No update is available.” I tried this approach several times. I search my computer and cannot find Brave anywhere. I tried uninstalling Brave, but Brave is not listed there either. I have no idea what else to try. I searched the Brave community and your input is the only one that matches my problem.

Same here in January 2024. Never had Brave on this machine, but do have Dissenter, which is built on Brave. Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center, 64-bit. Am I cold-busted because I’m not on Windows 10…or is it because Dissenter is in play?
(Was going to remove Dissenter, since it’s not being developed as of a while back)
Checked Brave Status page and looks like all servers are up.
Otherwise, Dissenter, Firefox, Chrome all running without issue on the PC in question, so color us confused.
I’ll chunk Dissenter and report back.

Sadly, removed Dissenter and no change in the download behavior.

What OS (and OS version) are you using?
Sorry, I know it’s been a while since you created this topic. Are you still having issues, did you get it resolved, or did you bail and go elsewhere?

Finally resolved; went ahead & scrapped my Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center & migrated everything over to a Windows 10 Pro OS machine. No problems since…except a theme issue I’m going to put in another string about.
