Sometime in early March 2020, Brave Rewards stopped working across all my installs. Auto-Contribute, Monthly Contributions, and Tips don’t work and are not updating. I even turned on Ads and they don’t work. This is the case on all my Brave installs across Windows 10, MacOS, and Ubuntu:
Windows 10 Pro 1909 - [Version 1.5.112 Chromium: 80.0.3987.132 (Official Build) (32-bit)
macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6 - Version 1.5.112 Chromium: 80.0.3987.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS - Version 1.5.112 Chromium: 80.0.3987.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)
In my Windows 10 & Ubuntu installs, the Brave Verified Creator checkbox no longer appears, though that still works on my MacOS Brave install. My BAT wallet across all Brave installs continues to stay up-to-date with my Uphold account.
Hey @orcajove, thanks for posting! Few things to try here:
1 - disable and then re-enable Rewards.
2 - uninstall and reinstall (if the above doesn’t fix your issue).
The rewards servers are under heavy load, and a number of fixes and patches are on the way – it’s likely you should see normal behavior resume again on its own if neither of the above fixes do anything for you. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hey Asad,
I tried #1 several times and tried #2 on one of my Windows 10 computers. Nothing helped. Any other suggestions? My main reason for using Brave is to block ads but pay sites I use in BAT. If I can’t do that, then Brave no longer meets my needs.
@orcajove, on your OS X install, could you please try sending a 1 BAT tip to a verified publisher and take a picture of what happens on the tip panel? Do you see any error message? Does the balance go down by 1 BAT as expected?
Hmmm, strange, perhaps a temporary server glitch on the first time. Are you seeing any of your other versions work? And if you click “Refresh Status” on your BAT panel when you see something not verified and it should be does it help?
The wallets on all of my other versions of Brave now work! The only wallet that remains flaky is on a Windows 10 Brave installation that’s on a laptop with only 4Gb of RAM, so I can forgive problems there. At least the wallet amount there is up-to-date, even though the site isn’t recognized as a verified creator:
