I have my Brave browser on iOS to remember my private tabs and occasionally when I open my browser in my regular tabs, one of my private tabs flash on the screen for a second and then disappear. I’ve notice this has been happening for the last few months while using the browser.
Hello,
It sounds like you’re experiencing a bug with Brave on iOS where private tabs flicker momentarily before disappearing when switching to regular tabs. Here are some steps you can try to fix it:
Update Brave: Make sure you’re using the latest version of Brave. Bugs are often fixed in updates, so updating the app might resolve the issue.
Clear Cache and Data: Clearing the app’s cache and data can sometimes fix glitches. However, this will also clear your browsing history and cookies.
Go to Settings > Brave and tap Clear Browsing Data.
Choose the time range you want to clear (e.g., All Time) and make sure Cache and Cookies & Site Data are selected. Then, tap Clear Browsing Data.
Disable Brave Shields (Optional): Brave Shields block trackers and scripts, which can sometimes cause unexpected behavior. Try temporarily disabling Brave Shields to see if it fixes the flickering issue.
Open Brave and tap the Lion icon in the address bar.
Toggle off the switch next to Shields.
Report the Bug: If none of the above solutions work, consider reporting the bug to Brave. This helps developers identify and fix issues in future updates.
Open Brave and tap the More icon (three dots) in the bottom right corner.
Select Report a Bug and provide details about the problem you’re experiencing.
Additional Tips:
Check community forums: Search online forums like the Brave Community to see if other users have reported similar flickering issues and find potential solutions.
Consider alternative browsers: If the issue persists, you might need to try a different browser on your iOS device.
Hopefully, one of these solutions will help you stop the private tabs from flickering in Brave on iOS!
I hope the solution may help you.
