Brave on Android - Login for other apps fail

Hello. I have Brave on Android set as default browser but when I try to log in other app that needs the browser (apps that open brave to log in), as NordVPN or Ring, they fail because brave never goes back to the app:

  • I open the app (let’s say ring) and press in Login

  • The app opens brave, where I can login successfully

  • Brave should return to the app, but it never does, resulting in failing in login

I’ve tried disabling brave shield, with same result. If I switch to chrome it logs in without issue.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Set Brave Browser as default browser on Android
  2. Use any app that requires the browser to be open
  3. Log in with right credentials

Expected result:

Brave tab should be closed and the app should be reopened.

Hello,

Thanks for opening this issue, I have exactly the same issue with recent update.

With Chrome as default android app login works but not anymore with brave.
