Brave Browser Border-Radius Causes Invisible Content

Description of the issue: Unable to see content on websites or browser <input> or <textarea> or <video> or <a> that has a border-radius.

There may be more variables to the problem. Turning off Brave shields and disabling all my installed Brave browser extensions did not help.

How can this issue be reproduced?

GitHub Website - Pull Request:

  1. Have a GitHub account.
  2. Create or edit a Pull Request.
  3. Type text into the description field.

GitHub Website - Video Render:

  1. Visit a Pull Request with an uploaded video (e.g. https://github.com/shadcn/ui/issues/339).
  2. The video and controls are not visible.

GitHub Website - Releases Toggle Button (when active):

  1. Visit a GitHub releases page (https://github.com/TACC/Core-CMS/releases).
  2. The “Releases” button text is not visible.

Brave Website - Help Center Search:

  1. Visit Brave Help Center (https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us).
  2. Type into the search bar.

Brave UI - Address Bar:

  1. Open a new or existing tab.
  2. Type into the address bar.

Expected result:

Field text is visible and easy to read. / Video and controls are visible. / Button text is visible.

Workaround result:

  • A. FOR INPUT/TEXTAREA: Select all text. Copy to external text editor. Edit. Remove text form field. Paste in new text.
  • B. FOR BUTTON: Select button text. (Right click can do this quickly.)
  • C. FOR ANY ELEMENT: Use Dev Tools to inspect elements. Find the problem element. Remove all border-radius css rules.
  • D. FOR BROWSER UI: No known workaround.

Version 1.52.122 Chromium: 114.0.5735.110 (Official Build) (arm64)

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I cannot reproduce the issues you’re describing above — in all the examples the page(s) behave exactly as intended (also on macOS, with Brave v1.52.122).

Can you tell me if you see the same behavior using a fresh browser profile?

I do not know. I like the idea. I can not test it now.

I had an opportunity to update Brave.

The update and restart resolved the problems.

But, thanks for the suggestion.
