Brave account flagged

Sometimes your Brave Rewards profile can be “flagged”. That usually means our systems noticed some irregular activity associated with Brave Ads.

Does that mean I did anything wrong?

Not necessarily! Brave’s flagging system can sometimes have false positives.

What happens when I am flagged?

While you are flagged, some Brave Rewards functionality may be disabled or limited. For example, if you are flagged:

  • You won’t be able to verify your Brave Rewards profile
  • You will not be able to earn from Brave Ads (you may stop receiving ads, and you will not be eligible to receive Brave Ads earnings payouts)

How do I get unflagged?

No action is required on your part. Your Brave Rewards profile will be automatically reevaluated on a regular basis to determine when (or if) the flag can be removed.

Feel free try again every so often to see if the flag has been removed.

I have no idea what happened but it has been flagged for 3-4 months now and I didn’t do anything outside of the terms of use this happened as soon as Installed the brave browser on my phone.

There’s a bunch of little things that can happen. Even something as simple as your phone settings. Like a while back someone had an Android with their language as English-US but they lived in India. Their Android though had their location as United States and that’s what Brave saw, as it was their system Locale. When the IP address from the internet showed them in India, it had issues and eventually they ended up flagged. (might have that reversed in terms of where they lived, but point made)

I kind of touch on all of that in my FAQ if that might help for this and more information. It actually does cover why you can get flagged and what to do about it.

Anyway, only thing you can do is either keep waiting or submit a Support Ticket and hope someone from Brave will be able to help you.
