Why are ads and pop-ups still showing up on some sites in the Android Brave browser, despite my shields being up?
@scottwinterberg09 it’s generally helpful if you share which sites this happens on, such as to have typed out lulacloud.com. It just makes it easier to know where to look.
There are multiple possibilities.

Your browser and/or its components aren’t updated (update components at
brave://components) -
You need to adjust Shields settings (such as going to brave://adblock and activating certain content filters)

The website you’re using is using rolling ad servers and also infesting the site with things like invisible overlays. Keep in mind that sites like Lulacloud are already doing something illegal by pirating movies and all. Do you really think they aren’t going to pull out all the stops to show you ads, give you viruses, hack your device, etc?
In regards to #3, Brave does do a lot to stop it, but the sites are going to constantly make adjustments to try to bypass protections.
Things like Shields can build walls and do things to restrict access, but sites like these will then change the direction they come from, dig holes underneath, use drones to get over the walls, or whatever else. There never will be a way to fully block everything, but adblockers do the best they can.
Your reporting it might get someone like Fanboynz to go check it out and try to adjust content filters to block things there, but then the site will just add new stuff and it eventually shows again. It’s a headache.
Also thought it would be interesting to point out the main website doesn’t exist.
