Currently it’s very hard to copy the link text from desktop - while on regular text I can just double-click and drag, on a link this would follow the link. So I have to find a place near the link and drag from it, and many times trim the whitespaces resulting from this. An option in the right-click menu to copy the link text would be very useful. Edge has such a “copy link name” option.
See this topic, which also mentions that in mobile there’s already such an option when long-pressing a link.
Thank you for bringing that up in the form of a feature request!
I was not aware that such a request could be placed when I was writing the post that you refer to.
Without doubt, this functionality would be really useful to have in the desktop version.
As I understand, this would be similar to how links can currently be copied in MS Edge and will include the name of the website as the link label when pasted.
Same. I use this all the time on Brave mobile and I miss this when I am on Brave desktop. Would be great if this feature gets added soon. I hate having to drag and select hyperlink text and the copy it instead of right clicking and selecting “copy link text” from the context menu.
Yep need this, not sure why it’s not implemented? I’d rather avoid too many extensions as there are varying degrees of shitiness involved in those from memory hogs to incompatibility
