Account verification problem

hello.I verified brave in my old laptop. then,I switched to my new laptop and I am unable to see my rewards. I tried to verify in my new laptop but I receive this message “Error: Region not supported.Unfortunately, your Brave Rewards cannot be verified because your region is not supported for Brave Rewards verification at this time.”. What does that mean? I already have my account verified in my old laptop. how can I transfer my rewards to my newlaptop?

This was released in the last 24 hours. It could explain your issue.

@aycibin

DO NOT get rid of the old laptop, and DO NOT disconnect your old laptop’s Brave Browser installation’s > user Profile’s > Brave Rewards account (aka Brave Rewards wallet [lower case lettering for ‘wallet’]) . . . from your account at your Custodial Wallet Provider (presume-ably Gemini or Uphold).

Because, you might have sufficient BAT within your account at your Custodial Wallet Provider, that you may justify transferring to a Brave Wallet (Self Custody) in your old laptop’s Brave Browser installation.

As @Aman_M has stated:

BAT transferred to Brave Wallet from custodial accounts (Uphold/Gemini) will incur gas fee and will further require additional ETH to transact (send/swap) from Brave Wallet.

If/When you complete that BAT transfer, then DISCONNECT your old laptop’s . . . Brave Rewards account (aka Brave Rewards wallet [lower case lettering for ‘wallet’]) . . . from your Custodial Wallet.

So, at that point, you would have at least some recovered / saved BAT in your Brave Wallet (Self Custody) on your old laptop.

And, thereafter, in order to receive and store vBAT as rewards for your ‘paying attention’ to ads, then vBAT would (you hope) show up in your Brave Rewards on your old laptop.

Take screenshots of the accumulation of both BAT and vBAT on your old laptop. For your records, and future proof for Brave Support/Brave Rewards issues reporting.

Ask @Saoiray, how to move your BAT and vBAT to your new laptop.

@Saoiray or @Aman_M may show up and improve greatly upon my attempt to help you.

@aycibin You will only see your balance on Uphold/Gemini if your Brave Rewards are verified. If you can’t verify your Brave Rewards due to region-restrictions, you can view your balance by separately logging to Uphold/Gemini.

Since you cant verify your Brave Rewards, for now, you won’t see your old balance (earned rewards) in the new installation. And any rewards you earn in this new install will continue to accumulate in this browser as vBAT which you will be able to withdraw when restriction on your country is removed.

Will have to downvote @289wk for his reply here. Just joking. :grin:

Brave Wallet is separate than Brave Rewards and rewards earnings aren’t deposited into Brave Wallet, it doesn’t interact with “Brave Rewards setup” neither it can hold vBAT. BAT transferred to Brave Wallet from custodial accounts (Uphold/Gemini) will incur gas fee and will further require additional ETH to transact (send/swap) from Brave wallet.

Brave Wallet just interacts with cryptos on different blockchains. You can refer Brave Rewards as Rewards Wallet to make a distinction or just Brave Rewards.

If OP’s Brave Reward’s (Rewards Wallet not Brave Wallet) was previously verified with Brave/Gemini then his earnings (BATs) would already be there in custodial account, users don’t need to manually transfer nor they can.
