Why can't I sync my Desktop brave browser to my phone brave browser?

You’ll want the Mobile --> Desktop instructions.

You do not need a second phone. Instead, simply click on where it says Code words and use those words to Sync to your macOS device.

At this time, a password or screen lock is required in order to Sync your data. This is a security measure that is put in place so that bad actors cannot view your passwords. Passwords are encrypted by the Operating System password being used — in your case, it would be your Android device’s screen lock. If you do not have a screen lock then the browser cannot en/decrypt your passwords.
