Hello, I am trying to sync from desktop to android and successfully got sync working on desktop. But i do not see the sync setting on the android version and I know I have the right version because I have android version 8.0.0 and 1.71 minimum is needed. I go to settings but no sync or scan sync code option is visible.

Sync for Android not yet hit the stable release (that you can download via Play Store). It’s still in testing phase and required a preview APK (that what it’s mean by “special version” in the article above).
If you comfortable to install APK https://github.com/brave/browser-android-tabs/releases/tag/1.0.72(sync1)
Or you can wait until it’s ready and available as an update via Play Store.
