Hello community,

The discussion is about experiencing issues on YouTube, specifically the disappearance of essential elements like home, subscriptions, and history sections after using the ‘Block Element’ feature in Brave, seeking insights or guidance for resolution.

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:

  1. I right-clicked on a YouTube page, selected “Brave,” and then chose “Block Element.”
  2. I copied the blocked element as prompted.
  3. The option to “Create” or “Quit” appeared, and I chose “Create.”

After this process, essential elements like the home, subscriptions, and history sections vanished on YouTube. Despite trying to troubleshoot by enabling JavaScript, adjusting Brave Shields settings, and clearing site data, the problem persists.

Any insights or guidance on how to restore the missing elements would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance!

@yuge,
Thanks for reaching out.
I am curious to see what element you chose to block. The reason is likely due to the fact that whatever element you blocked is directly tied to/associated with other elements on the page. So by blocking it, those other elements are not able to be properly displayed.

You can reverse this by going to Settings --> Shields --> Content filtering — any custom filters (elements blocked) you’ve created will appear in the box at the bottom of this page. Simply delete them and click Save changes and reload the page (youtube in this case) and you should be good to go.
