The update looks great. I love how it looks, but a few issues have arrived with it.
The music will randomly stop playing and exit the playlist while my phone is closed.
When I lock my phone, it used to not buffer and the music wouldn’t be interrupted but now it is and it is kinda annoying.
There is no “next” button anymore, I used to be able to double tap my airpods and it will skip a song but that doesn’t work anymore. <== (Biggest issue)
Something to add
A lock button.
Currently, when you are playing a video, when you exit brave, the video pops up there and just gets in the way because it takes up half your screen, yes you can close it but its annoying as it then pauses the music.
Overall, I love it as a feature, and this update looks nice, but it looses some functionality.
I’m also running into issue of “no next/prev” button. Turns out it is actually there, but you now have to hold for awhile to go previous / next and it’s really really difficult to just go previous / next to adjacent track because it will furiously skip tracks.
I too am facing the same issue with the AirPods functionality next/prev or even paise completely disabled. Furthermore, Siri , as well, doesn’t work anymore with the playlist.
I’m having a few similar issues with the playlist function. A few of my saved videos are currently out of place on one of my playlists (though it is 82 videos long, mostly music) and I am unable to re-order them to how they had been before the update. However, every time I have tried this, the saved videos briefly overlap with one another and then return to how they were previously. There is also the minor issue of the playlist function buffering slightly when closing out the app/setting the phone into sleep mode; it rewinds the video slightly - maybe a second or two at most, but it is noticeable enough.
More or less just slight quality-of-life nitpicks here, though. I do appreciate the few expanded features introduced for the playlist function and the improvements to viewing saved videos in fullscreen.
(On a much less related note, I would still absolutely recommend Brave to most people just on how convenient it is - as a matter of fact, I now mostly use the browser version of YouTube because of Brave’s built-in adblocker. The few times I use the YouTube app currently are just for comment section viewing.)
