I got the shield down for the web site www.investing.com – https://www.investing.com/indices/us-30, but the ad-blocker warning still jumped out – “We’ve noticed that you’re using an ad-blocker”. Why is that, pls.? Is there anything else I can do, pls.?
What OS/machine are you using?
What version of Brave are you using? brave://settings/help
Can you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
I’m try to recreate the issue on my end. I’ve visited the site with Shields Up, the ads are blocked and there are no “you’re using an ad-blocker” messages. I’ve also visited with Shields Down and everything looks fine - no “you’re using an ad-blocker” messages.
Thanks for your response. I’m using Win.10/Dell. Version of Brave: 1.4.95 Chromium: 80.0.3987.122 (Official Build) (64-bit)](https://brave.com/latest/). I don’t know how to post a screenshot – there’re no “attach” option, isn’t it?
Hope so. I’d like to add sth. – the ad-block warning is not always there – sometimes yes, sometimes no. I tried this web site on my laptop, it was OK – no warning appeared.
@Azur what @fanboynz mentioned is in the upcoming versions (currently in Nightly) is that Brave will have a better adblock. Mean you’ll not see the anti-adblock message with shields UP.
@fanboynz but @Azur issue is that s/he get the message when the shields is DOWN.
This will limit the anti-adblock warning message? I can’t see why it would complain about adblock messages if disabled in Brave shields (unless there are other extensions installed…). Something was blocking ads in your screenshot which caused the message to popup, I’m just not sure what
Essentially, @fanboynz is including a string that our Shields (our ad block software) will read when landing on the site, that will allow Shields to bypass this detection.
