Setting: Open Tabs As New Window

I would like a feature so that every time the browser wants to open a new tab, I get a window instead.

I use windows exclusively. I strongly prefer to let my operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, etc) show me what windows I have open. On Linux (Ubuntu), when I hit the Windows key I get a tiled view of all open windows. On Mac, I use an extension so that when I hit Command-Tab, I get a list of all open windows that have titles listed and I can navigate through the list with Vi keys or arrow keys. On Windows, Alt-Tab gives me nice previews. Tabs breaks that flow for me because the open but not focused tabs are hidden and only the top tab appears in the list, thumbnails, etc.

While there is no specific browser setting at this time that does this, you can use Ctrl + N to launch open a new tab in a new window. For links, simply using Shift + click will open the link in a new window.

Not quite what you’re looking for but hopefully helpful.

Thank you.

Of coursei use these features all the time. What I’m looking for is when a website opens a new tab (e.g. pop-up or when the OS tries to open a browser window etc) for it to always open a window instead.
