Description of the issue:
For several months I have been unable to print. Whether using Ctrl-P, print-from-system-dialog, selecting a print icon-- whatever. The only option given is to print to a PDF. In settings, selecting “Printers” does nothing: it does not open any kind of sub-menu, but does flash to indicate a successful click.
Every other major browser can print. I often switch to a Chrome install to print, but Firefox works fine, too. I can print from desktop applications. Every program I use can see my printer except Brave Browser. This is driving me insane.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
-
Attempt to print via keyboard shortcuts, selecting a print icon, or using the “print from system dialog” option within the standard print menu.
-
Attempt to open the Printers settings menu to add printer by clicking “Printers.”
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
-
Only given the option to Print From PDF.
-
Settings menu flashes to confirm a button press, but does not open.
Expected result:
-
Being able to print from my printer.
-
Being able to open the Printer settings menu.
Reproduces how often:
I have not been able to print for months.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
OS: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Brave: Version 0.63.48 Chromium: 74.0.3729.108 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Hardware: Thinkpad T430s
Printer: Brother HL-5470DW (Network Printer)
Additional Information:
I want to stress that every other application and web browser on my computer has no trouble detecting my printer and using it to print.
