Pages are blank after computer goes to sleep

Description of the issue:
When I close the lid of my laptop(putting it in sleep mode) and then wake it up, any opened tabs appear as blank, but opening a new tab is not affected. Brave is open the entire time.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open a new tab and go to any website
  2. Put the device into sleep mode while leaving brave open
  3. Wake the device up and some open tabs should be blank
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
    some tabs should be blank
    Expected result:
some open tabs should appear blank but eventually, work properly again with tabs opened afterward being unaffected
    Reproduces how often:
    Every time
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10 Home Version 0.66.99 Chromium: 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
    Additional Information:
Pages do eventually come back and work properly, but it seems to always take different amounts of time between 5 - 30 seconds and usually happens on the tab I left on before putting my laptop in sleep mode. If you wake the device up straight after putting it to sleep it will not work. You need to wait around 10 - 30 seconds for it to properly work. If useful, I have a Samsung Notebook 9.

@Makeiteasy Thanks for reaching out. Can you please share the short recording of the issue? please record the scenario after making the device up.

Could be related to the issue which is logged. I am not sure, after sharing the recording I can try out the issue from my end.

Thanks!

I don’t have any screen recording software to record the event, but looking at the issue shown, the blank pages that would be seen on preview is exactly what happens when you try to recreate the bug I described, except in the actual application and not just in preview.

I can confirm that I have the same issue, with the same brave version. Although for me it usually only happens when the device was in sleep mode for a longer time (i.e. a couple minutes).

I also have this issue. It doesn’t work by refreshing the tab or reentering the address either. Only opening a new tab resolves the issue.

The tabs that weren’t focused doesn’t get stuck though.

I also have the same issue as @Flumz and others. Refreshing/hitting enter in the address bar does nothing.

the websites do work after a minute or so.

I found the solution to the problem. This also fixes another problem where YouTube videos would glitch out. You have to disable hardware acceleration and that fixes the issue. I disabled it for a couple of days and have had no problems since.

disregard my previous post, it only fixes the issue with video playback.
