This issue has already been stated several times years ago (Search suggestions not shown in address bar in brave search for example)
But I’m not sure if it was ever fixed or not. Topics are old and I couldn’t find any issue tracker links.
I don’t know what exactly fixed this problem but it’s gone now. It wasn’t a simple app or PC reboot though. I turned off and back on my anti-censorship proxy, and also turned off and back on hardware acceleration. If you also run into this problem you could try doing that idk
