My Brave installation had become corrupted, so it was completely uninstalled, everything deleted and reinstalled. I would like to rescue my history. Can I safely copy the following 2 files to the correct folder to accomplish this?
~/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default/History
~/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default/History-journal

I dont see how that could hurt anything. It may not work, but if the history exists then Brave was not completely uninstalled… ? Generally, any recovery methods that apply to Chrome should work on Brave.
Maybe a misunderstanding? Brave WAS completely removed. Even a new install will have those files however, although tiny, as without content. The 2 files I wish to copy over are from an older backup. I know nothing about Chrome.
Brave is a privacy-enhanced version of the Chrome browser, so most manual recovery methods like what you described are the same. I have not tried the one that you mentioned. It might be necessary to restore more than that to accomplish what you want, but it should not hurt to try if you dont have any existing session to worry about.
