Backup issues with trash directories

HIi All,
brave-browser-1.7.98-1.x86_64

The garbage directories, such as cffkpbalmllkdoenhmdmpbkajipdjfam in my ./config/BraveSoftware/BraveBrowser directory, are gumming up my quick backups with tons of useless trash.

To restore a Brave profile, what directories do I exactly need?

Hi @ToddAndMargo,
There should be a folder called Default within the Brave Browser directory.
e.g path name for mac:
~/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default
That folder contains book/extensions/history/etc, it is your main profile.
If you have a 2nd profile, it will be called Profile 1, if you have a third - Profile 2 and so on.

I tried just using the default directory, but I did not get back my bookmarks or other customizations. I think I need to back up other directories as well

On Linux, you may need to copy the entire Brave-browser directory in ~.config/.
