Lost current bookmarks when syncing

I lost all my current bookmarks on my pc when I when I sycned to my new tablet.

All my old bookmarks replaced my current bookmarks.

Any way to recover them?

Thank you for reaching out and I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. Just one question, did you have sync enabled and did you write down the recovery code they recommend you write down?

Yes I had synced on my browser on my PC. I had 2 diferent profiles and when I scynced my new tablet my second brave profile bookmarks are the ones that replaced all my current bookmarks on my main profile.

I do have recovery code. I can use it to recover my bookmarks that disappeared?

Thanks for your reply we appreciate details. Here’s what I’d suggest you to do:

  1. Tap on Add another device on your Tablet (above screenshot) and select Add a computer
  2. Go to desktop Brave browser
  3. Open brave://sync
  4. Select I already have a sync code option
  5. Type in the code words you see on your Tablet.
  6. Ensure the desktop joins the sync chain and you should see your Tablet on desktop and similarly you should see Desktop on your Tablet.
  7. Add bookmarks on either device and should get sync’d on the other.
