Is Venezuela blocked from the program?

Hi, I’m from Venezuela. I checked and see if Venezuela is not on the list of blocked countries. I don’t know if there is another one. Can someone clarify this for me?

Briefly describe your issue:

What Operating System and Brave version are you using? (Menu --> Help --> About Brave)

Who is your verified custodian or self-custody? (Uphold/Gemini/bitFlyer/Solana)

Are you in a supported region? (see here for list of supported regions)

@ArkVoid you’re right that it seems Venezuela seems to be kind of lost in Brave’s documentation. If you check https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/6539887971469-List-of-supported-regions-Custodial-payout-accounts you’ll see that Venezuela is not on the list for any of the custodial partners. Obviously this means you can’t link, which means you wouldn’t earn.

If you go to https://brave.com/transparency/ they have a list on the page of all the countries where there are ad campaigns. Venezuela is not on this list. So if there’s no ad campaigns, you would have no ads to view and no way to earn.

So in that perspective, yes…Venezuela is not currently participating in Rewards. I think this is related to sanctions and other headaches, such as was shared back in 2022 at PSA: Venezuela no longer supported by Uphold (or Gemini).

And if you look at Uphold’s site, it still shows that they aren’t allowing new accounts for Venezuela and it’s on a restricted list, https://support.uphold.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026786712-Non-Supported-Jurisdictions

It is weird though how Venezuela is not listed at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/9053832354957-Unavailable-jurisdictions-for-Brave-Rewards

So I am going to tag in @Evan123 and @Mattches to see if either can figure out if Venezuela should be on the unavailable jurisdictions page or what the status might be.
