You’re right, it’s rare that Brave doesn’t give search suggestions, I usually use Brave Search to search, I rarely switch to Google, but it’s out of habit. (ignore the fact that nothing appears in the widget, sometimes it happens in Chrome, since it uses several browsers).

Search in Google itself, search suggestions appear, even in the same result.
I support the improvement of the suggestions, but I ask you something, you have activated the option: Improve search suggestions. Since that helps the Brave search index quite a bit, to improve the suggestions as you say. The image is in Spanish, so I leave the URL for you to search for it:

I have that option on as well. Hopefully it improves over time
