When I right-click and block content, a lot of times, it doesn’t work. I try repeatedly at least a dozen times to no avail. Lately, it was NewEgg’s stupid pulsing icons they have on the product picture (worse thing you can ever do for your website or app) on the product page, the top one wouldn’t work.
I can’t block content by adding and editing stuff into the field, for example TVTropes, I have to right-click and block the filler boxes manually. If I copy and paste and change the filler box number, it won’t work. I thought it would save time.
@Atira,
Can you share a screenshot of the elements you’re trying to block so that I can test on my end? I want to be sure I’m seeing/testing the same thing you are.
Further, can you confirm that it does not work for any element on any website? For example, if you visit reddit.com and try to hide the logo at the top, does this work?
@Atira,
Looks like I’m able to block those elements as expected:
To confirm, you’re using the element picker the same way I did in the recording above, correct? Additionally, can you please respond to the question I asked here:
I used the element blocker as well.
It works on some, I’ve only tried to block the pulsing icons and it wouldn’t work for the top one. I apologise for the confusion.
@Atira can you try creating a new temp. profile (Menu --> More tools --> Add profile), making sure you close your original profile window after creating the new one, and test the blocker there and tell me if this produces the same results?
When this usually happens for me, it’s because somehow the specific element to block ended up something else, like a less specific div or etc. Atira, go into the Brave blocking list and see what exactly Brave is blocking. There might be something wrong with it there.
