I was talking to someone and mentioned I was moving from FF (with many privacy extensions) to Brave (with no extensions), for the main reason of making me harder to identify by browser fingerprint (and other ethical reasons to choose Brave). The person replied to me:
“fingerprinting extensions on FF is way harder and different, and barely any sites try to do so”.
He basically said I should not be moving to Brave for fingerprint reasons as FF is much more resistant to that, and that FF Extensions can’t be discovered by sites I visit. I strongly disagree with that (and I am sure I have seen my browser get recognised in ways which were only possible via fingerprintint) but they’re adamant about it and sounded more technically-knowledgable then I am. So…
Are they right about this?
