Description of the issue: I use messenger.com to access facebook’s messenger on my Windows laptop. Last week I had to reinstall windows. From that point Brave is not able to log me in to messenger. After entering my credentials, this page appears:
**Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
**
As I see in the URL there would be the 2FA (PIN code to see chat history).
In case Shields are down, the same thing happens.
**Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
OS: Edition Windows 10 Enterprise
Version 22H2
Installed on 2025. 01. 08.
OS build 19045.5247
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19060.1000.0
Brave: Version 1.73.105 Chromium: 131.0.6778.265 (Official Build) (64-bit)
**
Additional Information: if I start a private window it works normally, any other browser ( Chrome, Edge, Firefox) can log me in as well.
Thanks for the help in advance

@Silent-Zoz can you please try clearing site data for Facebook in Brave and then test again?
To do this:
- Visit facebook.com
- Click the
Tune
icon on the left side of the address bar
- Click
Site settings --> Delete data
- Refresh the page, login and then test going to messenger.com again
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it doesn’t work:
And an UPDATE: it doesn’t work in Private window anymore

That is exactly what it looks like for me too! Switched to Brave from Chrome a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve ended up keeping a window from Chrome to access Messenger.
OS: MacOS Big Sur v 11.7.10
Brave: v 1.74.50
I can log in with no probelm from Chrome, Safari and Mozilla Firefox.
I had a thought of maybe getting around it by disabling two-factor autentication, since the problem seems to be when redirecting to facebook.com-url to authenticate. But I’m not able to find how I can disable it. Checked both in broswers and app.
I had the exact problem. I disabled the Brave Shields temporarily when login in the first time. Once I am logged in, I reenabled the Shields. Worked like wonder!
Okay, that worked for me as well, thanks!
I remembered as I tried this way already, but maybe I was wrong.
Thanks again!
