BUG: unwanted autocorrect in iOS

iOS v17.5.1, Brave v1.73

I have added some custom text replacements on my iPhone (Settings>General>Keyboard>Text Replacement), so that e.g. when I type ‘sl’, auto-correct suggests my e-mail address.

If I type a word in the search/URL bar in the Brave app, and the word happens to start with the same letters as the text replacement shortcut (e.g. ‘sl…’), it automatically gets auto-corrected to the phrase (in this case my email address), without asking.

Weirdly, it only happens for the first word being typed in the search/URL bar – if I first type another word and then type ‘sl’, I just get a suggestion of autocorrecting to my email address, i.e. then it behaves as it should.

Same or different behavior when using the search engine’s Search Field (instead of the URL Address Field)?

Aren’t those the same fields, or where do I find the Search Field? For me the only field I see works for both URLs and searching.

If you mean at https://search.brave.com/, this field works fine for me.
