Brave Browser back button has disappeared (forward button is still there and works just fine).
How can this issue be reproduced?:
open browser, go to use back button, it no longer exists.
Brave Version 1.16.68 Chromium: 86.0.4240.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Android Version 9, Samsung Galaxy J2, Model #SM-S260DL
Expected result:
to be able to see and use browser back button again.
Additional Information:
I have looked online for answers, have checked the Brave Community Forum for the same issue, I’ve cleared the cache - and finally I uninstalled and then reinstalled the browser…and there is still no back button available…please help, thank you.
Can you elaborate more? There’s no “back button” available since the beginning, as far as I can remember. Only forward button. You can use your device button for that purpose.
I thought I remembered a back button…if there has never been one I have no idea why I was thinking it disappeared…I’ve been trying to find a solution for months and this is a real Mandela Effect moment for me right now.
and thanks for the suggestion - but I’m not aware of a device button on my phone that can help with that…there are only 3 buttons:
the power button and + also the up volume & down volume buttons on the phone’s opposite side edge.
my old phone had a back button icon…on the frame, under the screen…but not the Samsung phone I have now…which I hadn’t even noticed or thought about that difference until you mentioned it…what a weird thing, believing a false memory?
well, if you or anyone else has any more ideas, please chime in.
also, it’s kind of weird that the Brave Browser on my laptop has both a forward and a back button…I wonder why they did not design the browser for the phone with the same set of features…so inconvenient.
I’m not sure why there’s no back button in first place. Since it’s inherited from Chromium. But in my opinion, device’s back button is “easier to access” and maybe that’s why it’s only have forward button.
and yes, that’s the kind of button that my newer phone doesn’t have…and I’m not finding a gesture option on it either…but I’ll look again, in case I missed it somehow.
I remember the Dolphin browser had that option, to use gestures…but had to uninstall it because it began to not function so well anymore…that after years of having great luck using Dolphin on phones…in any case, not finding it on the my new one, itself, as a stand-alone feature…maybe there’s an app that can let me do that? I’ll look into that, too.
