I opened my Brave Browser (stable) this morning, and it apparently had updated, but the UI has been blown up, and is quite a bit larger than it should be, including Brave icons. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to disable to revert this back to normal size?
Screen is a 2560x1440p 32" monitor
Expected result:
For the UI to be normal sized.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
Version 1.73.91 Chromium: 131.0.6778.85 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
It does appear to be larger than it should be. I am definitely not seeing this on my end on Windows or macOS.
Can you please check and see if you are by chance in “tablet mode” on your Windows system? This would force elements on the screen to enlarge themselves so that its touch friendly:
I’m on Windows 11 and not finding a Tablet Mode button anywhere in settings. I see that it’s automatic in 11, and while my laptop has the capability to be a tablet style, it’s currently open as a normal laptop, plugged into a dock…
Is there anything in brave://flags
that would disable this?
Tablet mode is a Windows feature, not a Brave feature.
Try using the following steps here to disable Tablet mode (or to ensure that it’s not enabled):
I tried those methods, logged out and back in, and still has the extra large ‘touch-friendly’ UI
So I ended up restarting my PC after making those changes, and on booting back up, it looks like Brave is looking like normal again!
Thank you for the help. I would have gone crazy with it.
For those that happen to have the same issue, make sure and reboot after making the changes in the article linked by @Mattches. Then Brave should look normal again.
