Brave nightliy 1.66.62-Fedora 40 -dropping passwords

@coz let me go with a few questions for you.

1. Just to confirm, this is all passwords? So nothing visible in password manager?

2. Have you made sure that Brave has access to your keyring/keychain? Essentially, Brave will not show passwords if it doesn’t have permissions. I’m not familiar enough with Liniux, but let me reference a different but similar topic as an example here below:

I have found a solution! It seems brave stores the keys/credentials in the KDEwallet which is started on brave launch, however to me, the reason for the issue seemed to be brave browser launching before the wallet was unlocked and therefore brave would not have permission to read any of the keys/credentials. My solution was as simply as installing “kwallet-pam” to have the wallet unlock on system start (which is enough as long as your user password is the same as your kde wallet password) and …

3. I notice you mentioned this is happening on Nightly. Do you use Release and/or Beta as well? I’m curious if this issue is on all channels or only one.

4. Have you checked brave://settings/clearBrowserData to make sure you don’t have it set to do anything like to delete passwords on exit?

5. Which package did you install? What I mean is you have multiple methods to put Brave on your device per https://brave.com/linux/ and I want to know which you did.
