Brave Browser won't install properly on Mac m1

Getting the same error message that thousands are for a new m1 mac: “brave browser quit unexpectedly” upon opening from fresh install. YES - downloaded for apple chip. YES - downloaded from official site. NO - vpn.

I am in the same boat. Mac Book Air M1 tried beta, Nightly, Old and Current. Reboots, Safe Mode and no luck it just allows you to open downloaded file from the internet the icon bounces a few times and nothing happens. Works fine on my old 2014 MBP and yes I too understand to download the M1 version for the Air.
