Hi there,

Brand new Macbook pro with M1 chip. Just installed brave, ran the DMG, but when I try to open once it’s installed, it doesn’t open and I get: “Brave Browswe quit Unexpectedly”

Your Crash Report shows that the installer somehow managed to incorrectly install the Brave Browser.app, in the wrong location:

The senior “Brave Browser.app” application, being here:

/Volumes/VOLUME/Brave Browser.app

Given that almost all Apple Mac OS computers, are issued with a main drive (aka primary drive) Volume partition known as “Macintosh HD” – then technically, the Mac’s “Applications” folder (in which almost all applications for Mac OS are installed) would actually be here:

/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Applications/Brave Browser.app

In that path, the left-most forward slash " / " symbol (no quotes), represents the root directory on that primary partition (on Macintosh HD), similar to the " \C: " on a Windows OS machine.

So, on the Mac, the root directory for the “Macintosh HD” partition, shows at the beginning of the following path string of characters, and that, plus the location of the installed application can be written as:

/Applications/Brave Browser.app

In which case, the user’s BraveSoftware folder should be placed by the Brave Browser installer, here:

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware

Returning, now, to your /Volumes/VOLUME/ . . . problem:

There is a utility on your Mac, called Terminal.app, and it is located at

/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app

Find that Terminal.app, and launch it.

A Terminal window will display, and in it, there will be a prompt symbol, where you would click just once with the mouse arrow . . . and then enter a command.

In your case, let us say that the prompt is a " $ " sign (no quotes) . . . and there, at that prompt, enter:

cd /Volumes ; ls -an (and tap the Enter key)
