Brave ads not showing up?

i am not sure if anyone can help me with this but ive never seen an add that would allow me to get BAT. As far as i know you opt in to seeing brave ads “i opted in” and ive never seen an add to click to get me. i don’t know if i am miss understood on what and how to earn bat if somone could please let me know. I installed brave about a week ago so it could be just i need to wait longer or they have a cycle again just ask
