Looks like this is actually a built-in part of the site that they’ve implemented, rather than typical ad placement. You can see it in their message right below the “ads”:
Which is probably why even aggressive Shields settings doesn’t pick it up.
At any rate, for now you can block this yourself using the built in element blocker, or going to Settings --> Shields --> Content filtering and entering

Fix will be out in the next 3-6hrs. Additional Adblock rules won’t be needed.
