Share menu option disabled on Mac desktop - solved!

The Share menu is disabled or greyed out on Mac desktop. I noticed that several users have requested help on this issue but I have not seen an answer in the community.

This is the default functionality on a Mac. Chrome has the same issue. You have to give Brave the appropriate rights in the system settings. The location is not intuitive.

To enable the Share menu option:

  1. System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording
  2. Select the “+” and add the Brave browser application.
  3. Enable the option for Brave.
  4. Restart Brave and the menu option should now be enabled.
