Google translate microphone (voice) input does not work - gives network error

When i click on the microphone icon i get “can’t connect to network error”.

Using Brave Beta
Version 1.27.96 Chromium: 91.0.4472.124 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)

Translate mic works fine in Chrome.
