Can brave bring more AI model to the browser Like Google Gemini

i’m really a fan on google gemini Ai. it’s acually my favorite AI assistant can you bring more ai tool into brave browser. and if you do brave will become my favorite browser of all time.

Facepalm As long as everybody else can turn the inaccurate, stupid, plagiarist, security hole off.

IMHO, keep this soil off of people’s private desktops!

Use a web-site, but please don’t add this stuff into the desktop app. If you do this, Brave would become a leper to me.

Some people want to maintain use their computer, and not have it the other way around.

Gemini from google is full encrypted for the use privacy even google don’t know what you type

@TheZupZup nothing stopping you from it as far as I know. You should go read https://brave.com/blog/byom-nightly/ which is currently available in current browsers.

So long as you can get the API key and all, you would be able to add it. Same with any AI system out there, including if you’d like to make and train your own.

have you done it i’m trying to add it but it don’t work maybe i’m doing something wrong

All I’ve done is use ollama to add custom one originally. I only mess with ChatGPT lately and I’m not really wanting to try to link it to Leo.

Did you generate an API key for Gemini and then plug in that information?

i’m actually a noob about API key. and i want to learn more about it

@TheZupZup I usually suggest people try to search for information. Even perhaps using Gemini as you wish to do.

Google Gemini would refuse to answer how to get an API Key but you could have checked Brave Search or Google Search. For example, Google Gemini API key

Even then have someone with a video on how to get one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8iyrtQyrZM

Generally, companies charge for access to their products and have limitations. To use Google Gemini, you need to go through Google or obtain an API key they provide, which lets you access it elsewhere. You’d generate this API key through your account, allowing you to use Gemini with other products like Leo. They may have restrictions and might charge for full access.

Sometimes, a company like Brave might cover the fees to provide services to their users, but that’s not the case here if we choose to use third-party options.

Sorry if I’m being brief. There’s a lot of information, and as just another user—not someone paid to help—I can’t spend a lot of time on it.
