Brave with codingame.com : player rendering test results do not always show up (while OK with Chrome)


Description of the issue:
on http://www.codingame.com
this site allows to train and learn coding in various programming languages.
there is a “player” window intended to demonstrate the results of your test program
in most cases, these don’t show up in Brave, while work fine with Chrome
(some other cases like , however, work fine)

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. go to : https://www.codingame.com/training/medium/shadows-of-the-knight-episode-1

  2. when pushing the “Play” button you should see an animation

Expected result:
compare with Chrome for proper behavior, same page

Brave Version( check About Brave):
[Version 1.2.41 Chromium: 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)]

on Mac OS X 10.15.2

The reason you’re encountering this is because Brave is blocking a Device Recognition attempt from the website – likely to read the screen and decide how to display the media in the player. Simply open your Shields panel and change the Device Recognition setting to Allow all... and you should be good to go:
