Brave Community is a place for users to get help and report issues with Brave, give feedback to the team, and discuss how to make the web a better place.

Please adhere to the following guidelines to keep this a clean, well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Be Respectful

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But, remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling.
  • Ad hominem attacks.
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content.
  • Knee-jerk contradiction.

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Do not Spam

“Spam” includes link-bombing, promoting a project where it shouldn’t be promoted, hyping third-party services, and using email lists from outside sources, to name a few. This Community is here to facilitate healthy discussion and resolve issues – not spam or [self-promotion]. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Report suspicious and/or disrespectful behavior

If something seems suspicious or a member is being disrespectful, let us know. Our admins are here to help with these situations, and take action when we see someone violating these guidelines. Sometimes that just means giving someone a warning; sometimes it means revoking certain privileges or accounts entirely.

The best way to avoid anything like that happening to you? Don’t spam, don’t be deceptive, and be respectful. As our community grows and changes, so will the way we evaluate and enforce these guidelines. It’s up to all of us to ensure that the Brave Community grows into a solid group of contributors for a Better Web.

Always be civil

Nothing sabotages a healthy conversation like rudeness:

  • Be civil. Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, or abusive.
  • Keep it clean. Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit.
  • Respect each other. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.
  • Respect our forum. Don’t post spam or otherwise vandalize the forum.

These are not concrete terms with precise definitions — avoid even the appearance of any of these things. If you’re unsure, ask yourself how you would feel if your post was featured on the front page of the New York Times.

This is a public forum, and search engines index these discussions. Keep the language, links, and images safe for family and friends.

Repeat: Remember that this is a public forum

Please exercise caution when posting any type of personal information on this forum. Anyone with a login can screenshot or copy/paste information posted.

This means that once information such as login credentials, email addresses, full legal names, phone numbers and any other data that would be considered or “private” is posted, it is no longer private. Consider this before including any personal information in your posts.
