Zanahs WebDeviceRemoter in Background Processes - Is this related to the latest update of Brave?

i. I opened the Task Manager to look for an errant installer and found Zanahs WebDeviceRemoter.
ii. I did not have this before I updated Brave.
iii. It is consuming more than half of my CPU.

Hi @xgrani, thanks for reaching out! Especially given the circumstances, because that is not attached to Brave (or at least it shouldn’t be) as we don’t install anything like that. I highly suggest running a system scan on your machine to check for malware. But do reply and let us know what you find when you do!

Thank you so much for your reply. I did as you suggested and my antivirus (360 Total Security) flagged it and has it quarantined. I have also suspended and then removed it from Resource Monitor and Task Manager. I have also added Malwarebytes and scanned again as a preemptive action. Thank you once again for your advice. :grinning:
