There is a problem when loading videos on youtube at the beginning it take about 5 seconds to play. by the way I have a good internet speed.

Same here. Started today. It stuck in empty page but when i make refresh, yt video starts normally.
I’m having the same issue as well…takes a bit longer now but the page does load eventually
Does it continue to occur in a private window, or when not logged in?
I have the same issue in normal tabs and btw, It was loading perfectly in private window. but now Youtube started asking for login. So now login is mandatory for watching Youtube videos. Brave now have tough task to fight back
Could it be filtering an ad out? I’ve noticed a smaller 2-3 second delay sometimes.
yes it does just tested it…videos that are not monetized loads fine from what I tested so it’s definitely related to ads one way or the other
Are you logged into Youtube when experiencing this delay? If logged out, do you see the same experience?
I tried it logged out and in the private window and there is always a delay, ranging from 5 to 10 seconds
I’ve been facing the same issue. Recently YouTube has been updated to ruin the experience when you have as blockers enabled. For me, the videos wouldn’t load at all. Disabling Brave Shields makes the problem go away, for me.
There was an update of youtube rules in last 12hrs or so (upstream). What type of delay are we seeing? Maybe a slight delay? but 5-10sec seems excessive.
Tested with 20 samples of the same video loading

majority of the loads were over 10 seconds long while few were 5 second long.
This is because YouTube has nothing to do with your browser. The same thing happens with me.
Worth reiterating that this is almost certainly due to Youtube/Google’s shennanigans, throttling user’s with ad blockers installed, rather than an issue/bug with Brave.
@fanboynz FWIW testing on my end I do not see any throttling/issues with Youtube on macOS or Windows 11 with Shields enabled (standard or aggressive ad blocking) – using latest stable build (v1.80.113).
