Issue description:
I was watching a long video from my YouTube Watch later playlist from bed in full screen.
I moved my wireless mouse around to invoke the play controls and rewind it back a bit, but nothing happened.
Clicking would only pause/play.
Only pressing Esc on my wired keyboard snapped it out.
After that the controls were back to working normally.
This bug only happens from time to time.
Not a big deal issue, just wanted to mention it as a bug report.
Would greatly appreciate any help in fixing it, if possible.
Thank you for the ad-free experience you brought in my everyday life, I love you for it!
It would just be a fullscreen image with a cursor clicking on it, honestly.
Weirdly enough, last night it finally happened again, so I tried double clicking multiple times to see if I can get out of the fullscreen. No go, but after a while (5-10secs) a black circle with an X button appeared in the top center part of the screen and I could click it to exit fullscreen. Never seen such an interesting function/behavior from a Chromium browser before in my life.
@em0_tion,
When you see this behavior, are you seeing it on a laptop monitor, external monitor, or is it when you’re casing/extending your display some way to a separate screen (like a smart tv, for example)?
Tonight I found out this X-button function to exit fullscreen is constantly there, so I love it! A bit weird not to have the playback controls while still in full screen, but it negates me using a keyboard, so I’m overjoyed!
I’m glad you found the workaround but it is still unclear why it’s happening to begin with. Testing this on my end, both my Windows and macOS laptop show playback controls on screen when the mouse is moved. Still waiting on some folks to respond internally and will reply here when I have some more information.
Cool! Very much appreciated! A company that actually has customer support by humans for humans? You are a rare breed, my friends! Wish I can find me such a company one day.
