Youtube tab consuming high amounts of RAM (notifications?)

Youtube tends to eventually cause tab to eat up a huge amount of RAM (2+GB).

I have a suspicion, that this may not be a Brave-related problem - i’ve recently jumped from Firefox, where i was facing the identical problem. I still want to describe it there, because i think it might be helpful to have a report it might be related to Youtube itself.

In particular, i’ve noticed, that it happens, when i receive new messages/notification within the Youtube messages/notification system (on site, not the browser notification). I have the browser notifications blocked for the youtube, if that information is of any use. It seems like every time i start experiencing browser chugging, when i close and open the tab again there are always new notifications on the website.

Just to be thorough - i’m experiencing it on Linux (artix), profile is relatively fresh (just moved over from the firefox day ago), guards are up.

Again, i don’t really expect Brave team to do anything about it, since it seems it’s Youtube’s fault, as i was experiencing it on firefox as well. I just think it’s useful report to have around.
