YouTube Issue if resolution is higher than 480p

Description of the issue:

YouTube doesn’t play video if you select a resolution higher than 480p since the last Brave Mobile updates from about a month or so.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open YouTube
  2. Select resolution to 720p or 1080p
  3. No video, just audio

Expected result:

Play both video and audio as usual. 480p and below resolutions perfectly work, this is whether wireless is on or not, connection doesn’t matter. Edge can perfectly play 1080p on same device.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave 1.64.109, Chromium 123.0.6312.58
and also
Brave 1.64.113, Chromium 123.0.6312.86

Mobile Device details

Samsung Galaxy S8, Android 9

Additional Information:

We have 2 identical Samsung S8s

Mine has the latest Brave with this issue.

My wife’s instead is on a previous release (update failed for a chance) and her phone can perfectly play 720p and 1080p, please roll back whichever change affected this. Many users are having the same issue now.

My wife is on 1.63.165, Chromium 122.0.6261.94

thank you,
Gabrio

FYI: i rolled back to 1.63.165, Chromium 122.0.6261.94 which is what my wife has on her S8 and i can play 720+ again no problem.

there’s a new release out i saw on play - did anyone install that one? does YT video playback work now in HD 1080p etc? cheers
