After the last update I ran a compatibility test and did the fix brave started working again but I got YouTube ads now

i literally made an account just to reply to this, so it has more attention, had the same issue couldnt start up brave. clicked the icon and nothing happens. (i had run as administrator on) because a few months ago i started having ads every where and that fixed it, now its back every site ads, i cant stand youtube with ads, cant watch a movie because of how many times i have to click away ads, if you know you know; after trying some things but failing at it, i did the same as you and ran a compatibility test, it got fixed, kinda sad it removed my profile but i was happy after almost a hour to get it working again. except for the ads ofcourse, if anyone has a fix please let us know

I fixed it by resetting the folder permissions located in
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser
Under security and advanced button ticked the box at lower left corner and hit OK to replace all child object permissions and it fixed the problem

Only reinstalling the browser from scratch helps. And adding the adnauseam extension manually.
