I disabled the rules that previously blocked YT ads, we’re still investigating a work around. Apologies.
Previous rules will cause blank/black pages. Having a usable YT (with ads) is better than a broken YT. But we know whats causing the issue.

Brave Tor Private Window with UBlock Origin is working totally fine. Thanks for your efforts.
I was also receiving constant black screens in youtube but after I updated my graphics driver and restarted my PC, the issue was solved somehow. You should check if brave://components are up to date(especially the adBlock list catalog and rules) and then enable the scripts. I am on windows 11 so it might be OS specific issue…
Edit: You can also try deleting yt and google cookies from brave in brave://settings/content/all . Hope it helps! 
These seem to work… though not for all videos.
Disable any rules in brave://adblock custom rules, since they’re causing issue atm

Tried everything. nothing is working atm.
surprisingly Brave Mobile doesn’t have this issue

My Brave shield fails to block YouTube ads on certain videos, but only if I am logged in; if I try to open the same videos in private mode, the shield seems to work fine.

I’ve tested these custom rules.
They seem to work though videos are not starting at 0:00 point… They start around +2:00 mark.
I’ll keep monitoring for any other changes.
As of right now, all seems to be working great without any added scripts so if you’ve done something, it’s working!

Custom rules aren’t needed any more, they’re in Brave shields by default. Safe to remove guys. Go browse Youtube ad free!

I’ve been using Brave Browser for two years and it’s my main one for the Internet on all computers, but after the last update a few days ago, ads started appearing that were impossible to avoid, aggressively. cleared cockies and cache but nothing changed. added the ad block for youtube extension, so the ads are a little rarer but not completely gone. What is happening with the Brave browser? i went back to google chrome and there are no ads there, at least far less than on the Brave browser which has become an advertising youtube hell.
after copying the above code into the filter, the ads stopped appearing. however, today the browser does not work at all, YouTube outlines and video names appear, but everything is black. if one YouTube tab works and I try to open another tab, the same YouTube, it is black and nothing can be done. I’m using Google Chrome now until the Brave browser is fixed,it is to unstable after last update. i use windows 11 pro.
@123cro can you try removing custom? As you saw what Fanboynz mention…
